The man, identified as Antonio Tosado-Lopez, age 38, of Hartford, was found around 2 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 11 in the rear parking lot of 700 Park St., said Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police.
According to Boisvert, officers responded to the area after concerned citizens informed the Hartford Fire Department about an unconscious man on Park Street.
When officers arrived, Hartford Fire was providing medical attention to Tosado-Lopez until EMS arrived on the scene.
He was transported to Hartford Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Boisvert said.
Officers discovered video surveillance and it was determined Tosado-Lopez was the victim of a physical assault due to the damage to his face, perhaps by hands and feet, he added.
Police are viewing video footage to try and determine a suspect, Boisvert said.
No suspects are in custody at this time, according to Boisvert.
Tosado-Lopez's death is the 31st homicide in Hartford this year.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
